Now that I have this blog, it’s probably worth mentioning my callsign lookup site here: http://callook.info.

Callook.info has been online since May of 2008. I originally put it together because I was sick of the flashing ads and unnecessary number of clicks to view useful callsign information at the extremely popular qrz.com. Since then, I’ve gotten lots of feedback and suggestions (and early on, some bug reports) from many different hams all over the internet.

Now, in 2010, the callook.info web site gets about 500 unique visitors every day. Thanks to its developer API access, it has been integrated into a few software applications, has been integrated into several ham’s websites using the callook.info Google Gadget, and has even been featured on the Practical Amateur Radio Podcast.

And to this day, all of callook.info’s features–including its developer API–are completely, 100 percent free, with no ads.

My callsign lookup site started as a personal project for fun, and is now used by a variety of hams and ham radio-related software applications. I’m glad that I was able to use my computer programming skills to give something back to the amateur radio community!
